Westwood One Radio Renews Agreement To Air The Masters

It’s a tournament unlike any other. Yes, it’s The Masters and Westwood One Radio has renewed another one year agreement to air coverage. If you have Sirius XM, you’ll hear it on PGA Tour Radio, but also on terrestrial radio if your Westwood One affiliate chooses to carry it.

New York, NY — February 16, 2010 — Westwood One and the Masters Tournament announced today the renewal of an agreement maintaining Westwood One as the exclusive 2010 radio play-by-play provider from Augusta National Golf Club. The renewed agreement provides Westwood One with on-course radio rights, including live hole-by-hole coverage. In addition, the broadcast will be streamed live on the Tournament’s official Web site, www.masters.com.
“With this renewal we are thrilled to continue the longest running national radio broadcast partnership in all of sports,” said Gary Schonfeld, President, Network Division of Westwood One. “As the number one network for sports, Westwood One will cap an unparalleled run of events through its broadcast of the Masters.”
Westwood One has been the radio home of the Masters Tournament for nearly 60 years, providing exclusive play-by-play coverage of historic Masters Tournament victories from defending champion Angel Cabrera to those of Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Nick Faldo and many more. In 2010, the tradition continues as Westwood One presents live coverage of the world’s best players vying for the Green Jacket. Tournament dates are April 8-11.

Westwood One is home to some of the most exciting sports broadcasts on radio. In addition to the Masters, Westwood One’s 2010 lineup includes regular and post season NFL football, including the playoffs and the Super Bowl; the Winter Olympics, NCAA Basketball including “March Madness” and the Final Four; the Frozen Four; the College World Series; and NCAA Football.
