Kentucky-Georgia Delayed

According to Raycom which is doing a bang up job from the Georgia Dome, the last quarterfinal game at the SEC Tournament has been delayed. The first game tonight between Mississippi State and Alabama ended up with the Bulldogs winning over the Crimson Tide, 69-67 in overtime.

In normal circumstances, Georgia and Kentucky would be getting ready but because there’s another severe weather warning that is in effect until 11:15 p.m. ET so the teams are not taking the court until after the storms pass through the Atlanta area. According to CNN, windows at the Omni Hotel facing Centennial Olympic Park blew out causing several injuries.

According to Raycom, the earliest Kentucky-Georgial can start is 11:40 p.m. This is going to be interesting to see as the SEC semifinals are scheduled to begin on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. Will the games be pushed back a day? Unlikely, but we’ll continue to monitor.

UPDATE – CNN is reporting that its own building, CNN Center has also experienced some damage.
