Sports Media Weekly Podcast No. 15

The latest edition of the Sports Media Weekly podcast with myself and Keith Thibault of Sports Media Journal is now up.

It’s just Keith and I this week. We discuss a few topics including how the NBA is trying to own Christmas with five games on the holiday. In addition, we discuss how the NFL is returning to game action on Christmas Day with the San Diego Chargers-Tennessee Titans game.

We talk about the impending launch of TMZ Sports and how that will affect the mainstream sports media sites.

And we conclude with NBC’s projected $200 million loss for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Vancouver and how it might affect the bidding for the 2014/2016 Olympic Games.

You can find that podcast right here.

For next week, Keith and I will talk about the stories of the year, story of the decade and possibly do some sports media predictions for 2010.

And the guests will return in January as we have what appears to be a very good lineup. I don’t want to jinx it, but suffice to say we have some good heavy sports media hitters in January if everything falls into place.
