Fang’s Bites Podcast No. 18 — Ed Sherman, The Sherman Report

We’re back with the Fang’s Bites podcast. Just one guest to transition back to the recorded show and it’s a friend of the site, Ed Sherman of the Sherman Report, Chicago Tribune, Indiana University National Sports Journalism Center and Awful Announcing.

Ed and I talk about some topics that are leading the sports media world this week.

  • Record viewership for the USA-Portugal World Cup game on ESPN/Univision on Sunday;
  • The launch of ESPN’s Digital Center 2 (a.k.a. the all-new Powerful Death Star) and new SportsCenter studios;
  • The move of the Chicago Cubs from WGN-AM to WBBM-AM after a long association with the station and what could lead the team to leave WGN-TV for a network of smaller digital TV stations;
  • The final U.S. Opens on NBC; and
  • How Fox will have to hit the ground running for next year’s U.S. Open and hire a golf team that will have to appease militant golf fans.

Overall, this is a podcast that is just over a half-hour that is chock full of information for you.
