What to Watch in NFL Week 3

Week 3 of the NFL season is almost upon us. After playing out the first two games, teams have a better idea of what to expect from each other. There’s adjustments that have been made and actual game tape for opponents to observe. How this will play a role in fantasy football, particularly daily fantasy remains to be seen. Either way, having some Expert DraftKings picks will surely be helpful heading in to the week. Here are the top match-ups to watch during Week 3 of the NFL.

Houston Texans @ New England Patriots

This is a rematch of last year’s divisional round game. The Patriots obviously walked away victorious in January, but their playoff game against Houston was closer than the score suggested. Tom Brady looked great against the Saints, but his receiving corps is fairly banged up and many of his key targets may not be available. With Houston’s strong pass rush, it could be a long afternoon for Brady. One of these division leaders from last season is about to head towards a 1-2 start, which would be quite unexpected. There’s a lot on the line, and potentially home field advantage if these two end up meeting in the post-season for the second year in a row.

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles

This heated division matchup had its stakes raised considerably when the Giants went out and laid an egg on National television for the second week in a row. Now the Giants have to travel into hostile territory and come out with a huge win in order to salvage their season. If they fall to 0-3, then it will likely be a very long year for big blue. The Eagles on the other hand, have the opportunity to stomp on the throat of a hated rival and maintain their first place standing in the NFC East. There’s a ton at stake in this game and even more bad blood. It should be a good one if the Giants can somehow pull things together.

Seattle Seahawks @ Tennessee Titans

This is a statement game for both teams. After falling to the Packers in Week 1, the Seahawks managed to squeak out a low-scoring victory over the 49ers. However, it’s been two weeks in a row where Seattle just did not look very impressive. If they can’t go on the road and play well in Tennessee , then that may be a cause for concern. On the other hand, the Titans are looking to take over the AFC South. It would not be surprising to see Houston, Indy, and Jacksonville all lose in Week 3. If the Titans can take down Seattle, it woud give them sole possession of first place.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers

The Chiefs and Chargers stand at 2-0 and 0-2 respectively. There’s a ton on the line in this game. A 3-0 start would catapult KC to the NFL’s elite, while also effectively ending the Chargers’ season early at 0-3. These two teams know each other well and always play each other tough. I’d expect a close matchup and perhaps even a major upset as the Chargers don’t want to spend their first season in LA as the division’s doormat.
