Westwood One Radio's 2009 NFL Sunday Afternoon Regular Season Schedule

Here’s the 2009 NFL Sunday afternoon regular season schedule for Westwood One Radio. In March, WWOne reupped for two more seasons with the NFL following the purchase of the company by the Gores Group.

So here’s what you can expect listening to Westwood One on Sunday afternoons this season.

2009-2010 NFL SUNDAY AFTERNOON

BROADCAST SCHEDULE

New York, NY – June 15, 2009 – Westwood One announced today its Sunday Afternoon NFL broadcast schedule for the 2009-2010 season. Westwood One remains the exclusive network radio partner of the NFL Prime-Time package, broadcasting the most games and the best match-ups throughout the entire NFL season.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON NFL ON WESTWOOD ONE KEY FACTS:

  • Westwood One holds broadcast rights agreements with 23 NFL teams, including:
    • 12 of the past 13 Super Bowl Champions
    • 10 of the 12 Playoff teams from 2008
    • 35 of the past 40 Division Champs plus every AFC Playoff team from the past five years

  • Westwood One will broadcast games involving all 32 teams
  • Westwood One will broadcast a Sunday Afternoon Doubleheader every week of the season

As the exclusive radio partner of the NFL, the Westwood One 2009 NFL broadcast schedule features 57 national games, including: the Hall of Fame game, Opening Kickoff game, 17 Monday Night games, including one doubleheader, 16 Sunday Night games, eight Thursday and Saturday Night games (including Thanksgiving Night), Thanksgiving Day doubleheader, 12 Postseason games, including the NFL Playoffs, the AFC and NFC Championship Games, the AFC-NFC Pro Bowl and Super Bowl XLIV in South Florida. In addition to the 57 game primetime package, Westwood One will also present a weekly Sunday afternoon doubleheader starting Sunday, September 13, 2009 and continuing each Sunday through January 3, 2010. The first few weeks of doubleheader match-ups are listed below, while the remaining weeks will be chosen as the season progresses to ensure the best possible games.
