Statement From NFL on Tonight’s Postponement

If it’s late season football, it must mean another postponement or move involving the Minnesota Vikings. For the third straight week, a Vikings game has either been moved or postponed due to the weather. And tonight’s Minnesota-Philadelphia game flexed into primetime by NBC and the NFL will be played on Tuesday. And here’s the complete statement from National Football League spokesman Greg Aiello.

Due to public safety concerns in light of today’s snow emergency in Philadelphia, tonight’s Vikings-Eagles game has been postponed. Because of the uncertainty of the extent of tonight’s storm and its aftermath, the game will be played on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. This will allow sufficient time to ensure that roads, parking lots and the stadium are fully cleared. National Weather Service states that a winter storm warning in Philadelphia remains in effect until 1 p.m. Monday. NBC will TV game nationally.

So NBC won’t lose audience and may even have an increased rating on Tuesday. We’ll see.
