NFL Says No Primetime Flexing In Week 14, But Pats-Bears Moved to 4:15 P.M.

I thought a few weeks ago that with Dallas on the cusp of being in the Depths of Despair, its chances of being in primetime would diminish, but with the Cowboys having won a couple of games since the firing of Wade Phillips, it still will be part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football against the Eagles in Week 14. The only game that’s being moved is the New England Patriots at Chicago which goes from the early Sunday afternoon window to 4:15 p.m. Eastern.

With the move, it gives us 6 late afternoon games which is what I like to see.

This Sunday (Dec. 5), the Falcons-Buccaneers game on FOX was moved from 1:00 PM ET to 4:15 PM ET.
The NFL utilizes “flexible scheduling” on Sundays in Weeks 11-17. Flexible scheduling will ensure quality matchups in all NFL Sunday time slots in those weeks and give teams a chance to play their way onto primetime and into the late-afternoon 4:15 PM ET time slot on CBS and FOX.
For each of the flexible scheduling weeks with the exception of Week 17, the NFL will announce the start times of games on Sundays no later than 12 days prior to that weekend. To ensure a Sunday night game and doubleheader games with playoff implications in Week 17, the flexible scheduling decision for that Sunday may be made on six days notice.

More coming later.
