“He changes everything. You can’t let him penetrate or he will foul the whole play up. You’ve got to be able to secure him at the line of scrimmage, and again that is a lot easier said than done because of his talent and also some of the different looks they give you. He is very disruptive in both the running and the passing game, he has got great effort, he makes plays in pursuit, so really there are no weakness to his game and he has got to be blocked on every play no matter what the play is.”On what tight end Rob Gronkowski said to him after scoring a touchdown last week:
“We had talked about a couple of things during the week in the game and then they sort of happened that way during the game. So I just reminded him of those and he agreed with me and reminded me that he did it just the way he said he was going to do it.”On Rob Gronkowski’s love of the game:

“It has always been good. I think Tom [Brady] and I have always had a good relationship. He has been great to work with. He has a tremendous work ethic, preparation, he is very smart and we have learned a lot from working with each other. Just seeing the game through a quarterback’s eyes is different than seeing it from the press box or the sidelines as a coach. Again, I think it is valuable both ways.”On whether or not he ever yells at his players:

“I talked to four Redskins sources over the course of the week to try to understand the situation and what I am told is Jay Gruden received positive feedback after his press conference on RGIII mainly because of the accountability that he now brings to this football team. Remember in the past it would have been all on RGIII. I’m sure they would have asked him, Dan Snyder specifically, would have asked him to lighten up. That was simply not the case. It shows that upper management does back their coach. The landscape has changed for RGIII in Washington. Let me give you an example. In the past, he had certain rules, things he was allowed to do that others were not like his wife was allowed places in training camp. Other teammates’ wives were not. His family basically had an all access pass. None of that is the case now. It is now simply based on performance. Which brings me to the starting quarterback position. I’m told by several sources Jay Gruden does have the ability to bench RGIII if necessary if he simply does not play well enough. I’m told it is not out of the question.”On the possibility Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III could be benched prior to the game against the Indianapolis Colts:
“Everything is possible because as Jay Gruden has said very clearly, and even Robert Griffin III has said, the performance has not been good enough. [Robert Griffin III] actually had a good week of practice I’m told but the question is whether or not it will translate to the game. Let me share with you a disturbing detail I dug up this week. Redskins coaches have gone back to 2012. They’ve studied the film that showed RGIII as successful as he’s ever been. They have doubts that he can be physically the player he was back then. They believe injuries have taken their toll. They’re going to try to do what they can today to make him comfortable, get him some easy reads, have him have some success early but they do wonder if he can ever be the kind of player he once was.”On Jay Gruden’s public commentary on Robert Griffin III with Washing Redskins management:
“This is a slightly awkward situation so let me explain how awkward it actually is. Did you know that Jay Gruden and Robert Griffin III are actually neighbors? Not next door, but basically next door to each other. Maybe when they’re walking the dog they can talk about this situation. Let me explain what’s happened. Jay Gruden comes out on Wednesday and says what he did about RGIII and I’m told the team’s brass has offered support for him in this case whereas in the past this might not have happened with this quarterback. In fact, Jay Gruden does have license to bench RGIII possibly today if he is not performing up to standards. All they want is to be able to be successful. Things certainly have changed for RGIII over the past several of years. There are no more special rules for him. His wife used to be allowed where other wives were not in training camp. His family essentially had an all access pass to the facility. That is no longer the case. So the Redskins, what they have tried to do is do everything they can to have RGIII be successful. They went back and studied the 2012 tape and there are doubts internally that he has the skills – the physical skills to be the kind of player he was back then. In fact, I’m told by sources they’ve actually instructed him, don’t run. We don’t want you to get hurt.On what is next for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson:
“Adrian Peterson has his appeals hearing on December 2 with third party arbitrator Harold Henderson. He does not expect to win, but his argument is that he is being judged on this personal conduct policy that did not exist when he had his infraction with his four year old son. I am told that if Adrian Peterson loses his appeal he may explore legal options to potentially seek damages for having to sit out this season. As far as his 2015 status, I’m told by sources the Vikings football people would like him back but Peterson himself is not sure that he can be back in Minnesota in that climate, something he would like to figure out. He’s eligible to return in April, the middle of April. Remember, that is a month after free agency begins a little bit of no-man’s land so if he is not going to play for the Vikings, the likelihood is they will try to trade him.
