Yes, we know the NFL is explosive in the ratings. We know it kills the competition. We know fans love to watch it. And it always makes news when games come in 1-2 in the weekly ratings like this week.

NFL Games Top Local Ratings Record 88 Percent of Time

NFL game telecasts were the two most-watched programs on television last week (Nov. 15-21), according to The Nielsen Company. 

The CBS national telecast (mostly Colts-Patriots) was last week’s most-watched show among all programs on television with 23.6 million viewers — the 11^th time in 11 weeks that an NFL game telecast has been television’s most-watched program.

Giants-Eagles on NBC Sunday night ranked second and was the week’s most-watched primetime program with 23.2 million viewers.

NFL games topped the ratings in 29 of 30 NFL markets last week.  For the season, NFL games rank as the week’s highest-rated program in local NFL markets 88 percent of the time – the highest rate ever through 11 weeks.
