Behind the Scenes at NFL Broadcast Boot Camp

Last week, the National Football League held its 6th annual Broadcast Boot Camp for current and ex-players. The camp was held at the NFL Films studios in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. SB Nation’s Dan Rubenstein had the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes and learn what the ex-players had to learn to be on radio and TV.

Dan had the opportunity to talk with CBS/Showtime host James Brown, NFL Films producer Greg Cosell, Fox NFL Sunday host Curt Menefee, former New York Jet Kris Jenkins, former New England Patriots wide receiver Troy Brown, ESPN NFL analyst Ron Jaworski and many others.

It’s a very interesting look at what the players have to endure and they discover that being on the air isn’t as easy as it looks. Check out the video.

And from this year’s crop of Broadcast Boot Campers, some have already snared some gigs.
