NFL Network’s ‘Path to Primetime’ 2011 NFL Draft coverage continues with the fifth season of Path to the Draft, which premieres Monday, March 7 at 6:00 PM ET, and runs right up to the 76th annual NFL Draft Thursday, April 28 – Saturday, April 30. Path to the Draft airs Monday through Friday at 6:00 PM ET, providing news reports, one-on-one interviews, player rankings, exclusive mock drafts and analysis on if a prospect’s stock is rising or falling.

NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock headlines Path to the Draft’s extensive roster of analysts. Called “the gold standard of the glamour NFL evaluators” by Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch, Mayock brings a wealth of football knowledge and experience, as well as a keen eye for NFL talent to the set.

Additional analysts include NFL draft analyst Charles Davis, former NFL front office executive Michael Lombardi, former NFL player Brian Baldinger and former NFL general manager Charley Casserly. Paul Burmeister and Fran Charles rotate as hosts.

Path to the Draft also features Pro Day workouts of prospects such as Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton, Alabama’s Mark Ingram, Julio Jones and Marcell Dareus and Missouri’s Blaine Gabbert along with exclusive interviews with NFL head coaches, general managers and scouts to deliver the most updated information on the 2011 NFL Draft.

Path to the Draft will also include daily “First Draft” features on the top prospects. This week’s episodes will profile Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert (Monday), Alabama running back Mark Ingram (Tuesday) and LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson (Wednesday).

Through the use of exclusive coaching tape, Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine workout footage, the Path to the Draft crew will focus on potential NFL prospects and provide insight into which players best suit each NFL team’s needs.

Rich Eisen Sets Personal Best Time of 6.18 Seconds in 40-Yard Dash Wearing a Suit at NFL Scouting Combine
In what has become a must-see event, NFL Network’s Rich Eisen set a personal best in the 40-yard dash with a time of 6.18 seconds. This marks the seventh time Eisen has run the 40-yard dash in a suit, improving on the time of 6.24 seconds that he ran in 2010.

New to this year’s run was the introduction of the UA E39, a compression shirt fitted with electronic sensors that track the body’s natural motion and biometric signals, which are then sent to a tiny device on the front of the shirt. Eisen was equipped with the UA E39, generating 2.0 G-forces during his run. Or, as Mike Mayock astutely points out, “20 percent of [the G-forces generated by] Prince Amukamara.”

NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders believes that Eisen would beat “the lead guy from every network” in the 40-yard dash. But it was analyst Charles Davis who put out the following challenge:

“Throwing it out there now: you want a piece of Rich Eisen next year, you want some of this? [The] lead guy from every network, you meet us here [at the Combine]. Right here next year. [In a] suit, we’ll give you the shoes. Rich Eisen, he will take you on and he will take you out.”

To see Eisen’s 40-yard dash, as well as how he fared compared to some of the notable prospects from the Scouting Combine, please visit: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/09000d5d81e8d293/Rich-Eisen-s-40-yard-dash?module=HP_headlines
