Real Madrid CF: 20/21 season report and predictions

Warming up for another big season, Real Madrid has some exciting changes on the horizon. We look at what to expect in 20/21.  Although the 2019-2020 season got off to a rough start, and there were a few wobbles with injuries and red cards, Real Madrid is arguably the best football club of our time, and Zinedine Zidane will surely know how to bring home the bacon yet again this year.

The new lineup has some very young players with a thirst for titles and personal recognition. They are bolstered by veterans who play with the same passion as their very first day, including their captain Sergio Ramos, who will give his all and more to lead the team to play their absolute best.

Players to watch

There is a lot of talent out there, and here are our top picks. Straight off the bat: Andriy Lunin as goalkeeper.  He will need to prove he is better than Alphonse Areola, but it is looking good for him this season.

Another one to keep an eye on is Alvaro Odriozola. Although currently on loan to Bayern Munich, he has potential if Real Madrid can give him more playing time.

We are also watching Eden Hazard. Premier Leagues best player for several years, he has achieved some incredible things in La Liga. If he can shake off his tendency to accrue ankle injuries, he will do well.  And finally, Luka Jovic, who has the ability to be one of the best No. 9s in the world.

Potential transfers

Watch out for Paul Pogba. Quoted as saying it would be his dream to play for Real Madrid, for the 27-year-old is touted to still have the best years of his career ahead of him.  In close competition, Eduardo Camavinga is a strong favorite, with PSG, Juventus, and Real Madrid all looking to sign him. It has to be said though, that Zidane seems to have a preference for Pogba, who he has petitioned to sign since 2016.

New sponsorship deal

In a recent sponsorship deal with easyMarkets, a forex broker, Real Madrid has secured a three-year agreement that will lead them into an increasingly bright future.

Ohad Golan, chief marketing officer at easyMarkets, said the brand was looking to partner with a team that has instant recognizability, a rich history and a loyal, dedicated fan base.

He said We sought to sign with a great club that has global appeal, with millions of eyes on it each match – and Real Madrid was the obvious choice. We look forward to leveraging Real Madrids immense popularity and global appeal strategically as we move forward.”

The last word

Real Madrid won the 2019-2020 La Liga title, but there are a handful of players who still have a point to prove and everyone has an opinion on how that might play out. One thing is for sure, with so much talent currently on the team, and some very interesting potential transfers, it looks like a strong season ahead.
