Bruins Choke Friday, But Not NESN

The Bruins completing their historic choke against the Flyers on Friday was like watching a major disaster happen in front of my eyes. As a Bruins fan, it was a helpless feeling seeing this collapse on Friday night and the ratings for NESN were very good. Overall, it was the second highest rated Bruins game in the history of NESN.

Here’s a quick blurb from NESN’s public relations department.

NESN garnered a 13.2 household rating in the Boston DMA for Friday night’s Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal against the Philadelphia Flyers. The program was the #1 rated show in the Boston DMA and the second highest Bruins game rating in NESN’s 26 year history covering the team behind only last year’s Eastern Conference Semifinal Game 7 (14.2).

NESN’s Game 7 coverage also earned the honor of being the top rated program in the Boston DMA in every measurable demographic category including Men 18-34 (14.1), Men 25-54 (12.6), Adults 18-49 (10.4), and Women 25-54 (7.1).

I’m glad to see hockey getting good ratings in Boston, but sad that the season is over.
