Westwood One's Announcing Teams for the 2010 NCAA Sweet 16 and Regional Finals

Thanks to Westwood One Radio’s Twitter account, we have the announcers for this week’s Sweet Sixteen and Regional Finals as well as the Division II Championship on Saturday. In addition, Westwood One has sent announcing crews close to their home bases. I’ll explain after you see the assignments.

Regionals – Thursday, March 25th and Saturday, March 27th, 2010
Syracuse, NY, Carrier Dome, Ian Eagle and P.J. Carlesimo
Salt Lake City, UT, Energy Solutions Arena, Ted Robinson and Bill Frieder

Regionals – Friday, March 26th and Sunday, March 28th, 2010
St. Louis, MO, Edward Jones Dome, Kevin Harlan and John Thompson
Houston, TX, Reliant Stadium, Kevin Kugler and Pete Gillen

Division II Championship-Saturday, March 27th, 2010
Springfield, MA, Mass Mutual Center, Dave Ryan and Dave Odom

Notice that the play-by-play announcers are relatively close to home. Ian Eagle is in the New York Metropolitan and heads to Syracuse. Ted Robinson lives in the Bay Area and goes to Salt Lake. Kevin Harlan lives in Kansas City and gets to stay in state for the Midwest Regional Final and Kevin Kugler is based out of Omaha. Now why John Thompson goes to St. Louis and not Syracuse is beyond me. That I don’t understand. There you have the Westwood One assignments.
