NBC Previews Sunday Night Football in South Florida

On Sunday, NBC heads to whatever the Stadium Formerly Known as Joe Robbie is called now for the Jets-Dolphins matchup. It marks the second time the Jets will have played in primetime this season and coming off a big win against America’s most hated team, the New England Patriots, there’s more focus on the New York Sexy Rexy’s. Of course, the Dolphins are no slouches coming off a big win in Minnesota as well. And before the Pats fans accuse me of being a Jets fan, I’m far from it. I’m a Browns fan, so shut up.

NBC has a good game for primetime and here’s the preview.

Calling Jets-Dolphins will be six-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), who is in his 25th season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 11-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth, who last year, his first in the SNF booth, won the Emmy for outstanding event analyst; and sideline reporter Andrea Kremer about whom TV Guide said is “one of TV’s best sports correspondents.”
Coverage begins with “Football Night in America,” at 7 p.m. ET Sunday with Bob Costas, who won the outstanding studio host Emmy last year, hosting live from inside the stadium. Dan Patrick will co-host “Football Night” from NBC’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza studios joined by Super Bowl-winning head coach and Emmy-nominated Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison, and Sports Illustrated’s Peter King. Alex Flanagan will report on the Eagles-Jaguars game from Jacksonville.
HARRISON ON JETS PERFORMANCE AGAINST THE PATRIOTS: “I didn’t think we’d be talking about the Jets offense and their ability to pass the ball but Mark Sanchez looked like Tom Brady.”
DUNGY ON SANCHEZ: “Mark Sanchez looked like a playoff quarterback (against the Patriots). They took the shackles off him and let him win the game and he won it for them.”
HARRISON ON THE DOLPHINS: “They are doing what the Jets did last year. They are running the ball and playing good defense. They are emotional. They are playing smart. They are not giving up big plays and they are getting to the quarterback and creating turnovers. This is a very disciplined defense and very physical.”
BOB COSTAS INTERVIEWS RYAN AND SANCHEZ: Bob Costas interviewed Jets head coach Rex Ryan and quarterback Mark Sanchez for segments that will air Sunday Night during “Football Night in America.”
NFL, TELEMUNDO & NBC SPORTS TEAM TO CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

TELEMUNDO STATIONS TO BROADCAST JETS-DOLPHINS GAME: The NFL, Telemundo and NBC Sports have teamed for a unique broadcast for viewers of this week’s “Sunday Night Football” game. Telemundo will broadcast its first-ever “Sunday Night Football” game on its New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Miami stations.

NBC Sports’ “Sunday Night Football” production team will partner with Deportes Telemundo to broadcast the game from Miami in two languages. Deportes Telemundo will provide its own Spanish-speaking award-winning commentators, Jessi Losada, Rene Giraldo and Edgar Lopez.

The national anthem, performed by Grammy-award winner and Dolphins’ limited partner Marc Anthony, along with Dolphins’ limited partner Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas, and a special halftime performance by international superstar Enrique Iglesias, will all be part of the NBC Sports and Telemundo broadcasts.

And you have plenty of stuff to chew on. That’s it.
