NBC Olympics to Offer Live Programming on .com and Live Extra App Including Gold Zone

NBC continues to make daily announcements about its Olympic programming. Coming in February, NBCOlympics.com will debut several new online features for its site and the NBC Sports Live Extra App.

One particular feature that returns from London is Gold Zone which will take viewers to wherever the action is in Sochi. Unlike London, there will be hosts and one of them is DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket Red Zone Channel host Andrew Siciliano while the other will be former ESPN’er Ryan Burr. Gold Zone will stream live between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. ET.

Olympic Ice will be a daily studio show that will be hosted by MLS anchor Russ Thaler with 2002 figure skating gold medalist Sarah Hughes as the analyst. This will review the day’s events from the Iceberg Skating Palace where the competition will take place.

And an Olympic News Desk will be streamed throughout the day on NBCOlympics.com providing updates on the latest news. This will be free and no authentication will be needed unlike the other two features which will require cable and satellite subscriptions.

Here’s the NBCOlympics press release.
