Even Without Peyton Manning, Sunday Night Football Is A Ratings Juggernaut

NBC has sent over this press release crowing about its overnight ratings for Sunday Night Football. For a surprisingly good game between Pittsburgh and a Peyton Manning-less Indianapolis Colts, NBC received a 13.2 rating with a 21 share, up 2% from last year’s Week 3 game, the New York Jets at Miami.

Naturally, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis were the top 2 rated markets for the game. Astounding numbers for both markets as you’ll see in the press release.

Plus NBC won the night over some stiff competition as there were 11 series or season premieres including Desperate Housewives/Pan Am on ABC, The Amazing Race/Good Wife/CSI: Miami on CBS and Boardwalk Empire on HBO.
