TBS To Air Derek Jeter’s Final Regular Season Game Ever; That Is If He Plays

This Derek Jeter farewell is getting out of hand. I’m not begrudging the Yankees fans who love the man, but to this Red Sox fan, the whole thing is getting boring. And with his final home game coming on Thursday and his career finale allegedly coming on Sunday in Boston, the networks are scrambling to cover his final games.

MLB Network will air Baltimore at New York on Thursday which will be Jeter’s final game at Yankee Stadium. TBS says it will air New York at Boston on Sunday which should signify Jeter’s last game ever as a player.

Ernie Johnson, Ron Darling and Cal Ripken will be in the booth at Fenway Park on Sunday as first pitch is set to take place after 1:30 p.m. ET. TBS will have a pregame show at 1 p.m.

Anything else that happens is totally up to the networks.

TBS will begin its eighth consecutive year of MLB Postseason coverage with its exclusive presentation of the 2014 MLB Wild Card featuring the American League matchup on Tuesday, Sept. 30.  TBS will also be the exclusive television home of the American League Division Series (ALDS) beginning Thursday, Oct. 2, and the American League Championship Series (ALCS).  The network’s coverage of the ALDS will be presented by T-Mobile.

This season marks the first of Turner Sports’ new eight-year multimedia rights agreement with Major League Baseball that will extend the partnership to more than 40 years.
