Next month, a group of MLB All Stars including Boston Red Sox outfielder Josh Reddick, Detroit Tigers reliever Phil Coke, Florida Marlins outfielder Logan Morrison New York Yankees Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson among others will be heading to my parents’ native country of Taiwan to take on the TAIWANESE National team.
Washington Nationals pitcher Chien-Ming Wang and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo will pitch for TAIWAN, not Chinese-Taipei as Communist China would have you call them.
The MLB All Stars will play a five game series against TAIWAN and MLB Network will air the games from November 1st through the 6th.
Unless I hear otherwise, I believe Greg Amsinger and Larry Bowa will be calling the games off a monitor at the MLB Network studios in New Jersey.

MLB Players Including Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson & Pablo Sandoval to Play Taiwan National Team
Series of Five Games to Air November 1-6Secaucus, N.J., October 25, 2011 – MLB Network will televise all five games of the 2011 Taiwan All-Star Series between MLB players, including Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson and Pablo Sandoval, and the TAIWAN national team from November 1-6. Greg Amsinger and Larry Bowa will call the games.
The MLB roster showcases players from 17 Major League clubs, including Detroit Tigers reliever Phil Coke and Milwaukee Brewers reliever LaTroy Hawkins, who are fresh off from competing in the 2011 MLB Postseason, as well as Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim infielder Erick Aybar, Baltimore Orioles pitcher Jeremy Guthrie, Florida Marlins outfielder Logan Morrison, Washington Nationals infielder Michael Morse, Boston Red Sox outfielder Josh Reddick and San Francisco Giants outfielder Andres Torres. Washington Nationals pitcher Chien-Ming Wang and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo, who were both born in Taiwan, will pitch for the TAIWAN national team. Giants manager Bruce Bochy will manage the MLB team. The complete current roster accompanies this release.
The first game of the series, played at XinZhuang Stadium in New Taipei City, will air on MLB Network on Tuesday, November 1 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Games two and three, played at Intercontinental Stadium in Taichung, will air on November 3 and 4 at 9:00 p.m. ET, and games four and five, played at Chengcing Lake Stadium in Kaohsiung, will air at 5:00 p.m. ET on November 5 and at 9:00 p.m. ET on November 6.
