Seinfeld to call Mets-Giants game with Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling and Gary Cohen

[New York] Monday, September 16, 2013 – SNY, the official television home of the New York Mets and New York Jets, today announced that comedian Jerry Seinfeld will join the network’s Emmy Award-winning Mets coverage on Tuesday, September 17th. Beginning with SNY’s pre-game show at 6:00pm, Seinfeld will team up with lead studio analyst Bob Ojeda and host Chris Carlin on Mets First Pitch. Following the pre-game show, Seinfeld will head up to the SNY broadcast booth to join Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling and Gary Cohen – widely recognized as the best broadcast team in all of baseball – to handle the play-by-play for the Mets-Giants game.

“Four guys who love to talk sharing one broadcast booth sounds like a bad idea on its face. I don’t even know if the chairs will fit,” said Seinfeld, creator and host of the Emmy-nominated web show Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. “But to spend an evening with Keith, Ron and Gary, I will stand if I have to. Those guys, and the incredible Bobby Ojeda, are the all-star team of baseball broadcasting.”

This will mark the second time that Seinfeld has called a New York Mets game.  On June 23, 2010 he received rave reviews for his play-by-play work with Keith Hernandez and Gary Cohen in the SNY booth.

That’s all.
