No Live Streaming of MLB Postseason in the US and Canada

I told you I would check MLB.com to determine if there would be live video streaming of the League Division Series. Apparently, only international subscribers living in Europe, Australia, South America and Africa will be able to watch the games online.

Here’s the statement from MLB.com:

National Live Blackout (Post Season): Due to Major League Baseball national exclusivities, during the MLB postseason, if you live within the following nations or territories, webcasts of all postseason games will be blacked out: United States, Canada, Guam, US Virgin Islands, South Korea and Japan.

So the only way to watch the games in the US and Canada is on television. You can listen to the games through MLB Gameday Audio and you can watch the TBS Hot Corner at MLB.com for some complimentary video coverage of the game with shots of the dugout, pitcher’s mound and real time stats, but no actual video from the game. I do hope MLB will end this restriction next season.
