MLB Network To Premiere New Afternoon Lineup Plus Air 30 Live Games in April

Can you believe that MLB Opening Day is next week? That’s right. Starting on March 31 and April 1, we’ll have full slate baseball games to add to the Primetime & Late Night Viewing Picks. And starting in the first full week of April, MLB Network will unveil a new daily afternoon lineup that will lead into MLB Tonight and when necessary, live game action.

It starts on April 1 when Fang’s Bites fave Hazel Mae co-hosts a new show with Matt Yallof called “The Rundown” which will previews the night’s action plus have news updates from the parks across America.

Then on April 4, Chris Rose and Kevin Millar will co-host a new talk show that will also be simulcast on Sirius XM’s MLB Network Radio. It will be called “Intentional Talk” and both men will be linked from what the press release says will be their “remote personal studios” meaning they both will be broadcasting from their homes. Come on, just say so. Remote personal studio, who are we kidding?

Anyway, here’s the press release from MLB Network. It is nice to see some live afternoon programming instead of the 1,000,000th airing of “Prime 9” or “Baseball’s Greatest Games”.

With the premieres of Intentional Talk and The Rundown, MLB Network’s regular season lineup now includes 15 more live hours of weekly studio programming, in addition to MLB Tonight, MLB Network’s signature live studio show during the regular season, Quick Pitch, MLB Network’s daily highlights show of record and MLB.com’s Fantasy 411. MLB Network will take its game production on the road for the first time in 2011 when the New York Yankees visit the Boston Red Sox on Friday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m. ET with MLB Network’s Bob Costas and Jim Kaat calling the game live from Fenway Park.

The complete 30 Games, 30 Clubs, 30 Days schedule is available here. Games will be blacked out in each team’s home television territory unless otherwise announced. Viewers in areas subject to blackouts will be provided with an alternate game telecast or other programming.

That’s all for now. Working on linkage.
