NFL_Network - NewQuick Quotes from NFL GameDay First & NFL GameDay Morning

“He’s already won the job. He’s played well enough at this point…This is his job to lose moving forward.” – Kurt Warner on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles

“This is not hazing. This is disrespecting another man.” – Marshall Faulk on the Miami Dolphins situation

“Jeff Ireland, the general manager, and head coach Joe Philbin in league circles are not expected to survive this.” – Mike Silver on the Miami Dolphins situation

“Nobody is talking about the fact that he was basically benched from his left tackle position. They just traded for Bryant McKinnie two weeks before this situation happened and I have to believe [that had an affect].” – Shaun O’Hara on Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin

“I’m saying that they’re done kind of like when the Colts were without Peyton Manning. Everything that they do revolves around what Aaron Rodgers is capable of.” – Marshall Faulk on the Green Bay Packers

“They could do what the Redskins did last year at 3-6 and win seven in a row.” – Shaun O’Hara on the New York Giants

“He can make those [big] plays, but he doesn’t make the stupid play. He’s a managing playmaker and that keeps them in the game.” – Michael Irvin on Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson

NFL Network GameDay FirstQuotes from NFL GameDay First

Every Sunday morning at 7:00 AM ET, NFL Network is first on the field with NFL GameDay First. Host Melissa Stark, co-host/analyst Sterling Sharpe, and analyst Shaun O’Hara provide the first analysis of the day’s games, while NFL Network reporters stationed across the league report from stadiums with the first on-location reports of the day. This week, Super Bowl MVP wide receiver Deion Branch joined as a guest analyst.

“For [the Dolphins players] not to mention Jonathan Martin – the fact that he left the team, the fact that all of this may have been going on – I thought that was probably the most telling thing we have gotten throughout this entire ordeal…It tells me that basically the locker room is trying to police itself, and that is whatever happens in that locker room stays in that locker room.” – Sterling Sharpe on the Miami Dolphins situation

“Nobody is talking about the fact that he was basically benched from his left tackle position. They just traded for Bryant McKinnie two weeks before this situation happened and I have to believe [that had an affect].” – Shaun O’Hara on Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin

“Now that he got all of the reps this week, he will play a lot better. He’ll have more command of the offense, more of the system will be in his hands; he will be able to get them out of bad plays into better plays – something he did not do against the Bears.” – Sterling Sharpe on Green Bay Packers quarterback Seneca Wallace

“I don’t see them making a second half surge. This football team this year isn’t as good as the football team last year and just because their quarterback is not as good.” – Sterling Sharpe on the Washington Redskins

“They have a three-game home stretch, they can beat all of those teams…They could do what the Redskins did last year at 3-6 and win seven in a row.” – Shaun O’Hara on the New York Giants

“He’s extremely accurate, and as long as he can stay accurate this offense will continue to move. I just don’t know if Nick Foles is the franchise quarterback that the Philadelphia Eagles are looking for.” – Sterling Sharpe on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles

NFL Network NFL GameDay MorningQuotes from NFL GameDay Morning

NFL GameDay Morning is the most comprehensive pregame show on Sunday morning, airing at 9:00 AM ET for four hours on NFL Network and taking viewers straight up to kickoff. Host Rich Eisen joins analysts Steve Mariucci, Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner and Michael Irvin to bring fans the latest news, injury reports, pregame analysis and game previews. Additionally, NFL Media Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Silver provide the latest inside information from around the league. This week, NFL Network analysts Willie McGinest and Mark Kriegel joined the show in-studio, and Warren Sapp provided his insight from Tampa.

“Every locker room I’ve been in, there are those players that are like the parents; they let people know when they step out of line, they let people know when it’s gone too far. That to me is the most surprising situation about this. I hear other players talking and they felt like everything was OK, that everything was normal and that’s the surprising part to me.” – Kurt Warner on the Miami Dolphins situation

“This is not hazing. This is disrespecting another man.” – Marshall Faulk on the Miami Dolphins situation

“You have to have a sense of caring about a person and want the best to come out of them, and there is nothing that I’ve heard that Richie Incognito said towards Jonathan Martin that will help in any way better his person.” – Michael Irvin on Miami Dolphins offensive linemen Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin

“He’s already won the job. He’s played well enough at this point that moving forward when you look at the situation with Michael Vick being a free agent, you have to find out what this guy is…This is his job to lose moving forward.” – Kurt Warner on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles

“There is no way that the Eagles are a threat. The only threat to the Cowboys are the Cowboys if they play down to that level.” – Marshall Faulk on if the Philadelphia Eagles are a threat in the NFC East

“I’m saying that they’re done kind of like when the Colts were without Peyton Manning. Everything that they do revolves around what Aaron Rodgers is capable of…Their playoff chances are over if Aaron Rodgers is out for an extended amount of time.” – Marshall Faulk on the Green Bay Packers without quarterback Aaron Rodgers

“Cam Newton is developing into an excellent situational quarterback…They’re going to be a wildcard team.” – Steve Mariucci on quarterback Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers

“I’m definitely concerned. This is an injury that took a long time and was very painful. The biggest question is a mobility standpoint; here’s a quarterback that likes to buy time in the pocket, to be able to move and maneuver inside the pocket, and when you’re coming back from a sore groin, that’s one of those things that’s tough to do.” – Kurt Warner on if he is concerned about Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler returning to play this week

“He can make those [big] plays, but he doesn’t make the stupid play. He’s a managing playmaker and that keeps them in the game.” – Michael Irvin on Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson

“He’s taking the time and putting the time in that goes into learning the position. There are a lot of guys that have talent that can play the position, but in order to excel at the position – to stay healthy, to take care of your body – all of those things are now things that Reggie has bought in to.” – Marshall Faulk on Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush

“The biggest challenge isn’t just the preparation, isn’t making sure that you know the plays, but it’s those other guys in the locker room. It’s convincing them that you can go out and win – it’s convincing them that you can go out and do the same things that the starter did.” – Kurt Warner on the impact of backup quarterbacks

NFL Media Insiders Ian Rapoport & Mike Silver

On the Miami Dolphins situation:
Ian Rapoport:
“I would expect the league based on what I’m hearing to take a hard, long look at this hazing issue with the possibility of coming up with an anti-hazing policy. Something specific to spell out the gray areas and allow players to know what is acceptable and what is not.”

Mike Silver: “Jeff Ireland, the general manager, and head coach Joe Philbin in league circles are not expected to survive this. Jeff Ireland already has a reputation in league circles for being a guy who, ‘We can’t believe he still has his job.’ They’re 4-4 but there is clearly a leadership void here. Expect somebody to pay.”

On Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger: Rapoport: “I’m told Ben Roethlisberger is not happy; incredibly frustrated with the direction the franchise is headed. He’s frustrated with the coaches and not just Todd Haley, which is why you should expect wholesale offensive changes in the offseason. But Steelers sources also tell me to expect Roethlisberger to ask them in the offseason to explore possible trade options. I’m told the Steelers did field trade offers for Big Ben last offseason; they are expected to do so this offseason. I asked this Steelers source would they actually trade their franchise quarterback and the response I got was no, unless we could replace him with a franchise quarterback. He does have this looming contract issue.”

Silver: “I am told Ben Roethlisberger wants to finish his career as a member of the Steelers. However, if he does come to the point where the team does want to trade him, keep an eye on the Arizona Cardinals. His former offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, the coach there, they love him there. They would be highly motivated to try and go get him.”

On Houston Texans running back Arian Foster:
Rapoport:
“I’m told by two sources star running back Arian Foster is out for the entire 2013 season. He has been seeing several specialists over the last couple of weeks for a back issue that has been nagging him, what I’m told is a lumbar issue. He’s been told he does need surgery, he will have surgery and the Texans plan to make this official on Monday.”

On Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak:
Rapoport:
“I’m told Kubiak’s job is not necessarily safe. I am already hearing grumblings from the front office both about how much input the coaches have in draft picks as well as using their defensive players – their stars on the field – too much which has led them to wear down.”
