U.S. OPEN CHAMPION RORY MCILROY NEXT GUEST ON ‘FEHERTY’

Feherty Travels to Northern Ireland and Engages McIlroy About Whirlwind Days Following His Record-Breaking U.S. Open Victory
As Part of His Ireland Excursion, Viewers Also Will Meet Feherty’s Parents

ORLANDO, Fla., (July 22, 2011) – The momentum of Golf Channel’s popular new series, Feherty, continues Tuesday when he travels to Northern Ireland – his original home – to visit the home of 22-year-old U.S. Open Champion, Rory McIlroy.

In Tuesday’s new episode airing at 9 p.m. ET, Feherty will visit with the young golfing phenom to find out how McIlroy’s dominating U.S. Open victory has affected his life. McIlroy also will take Feherty on a tour of his beautiful, modern home in the Irish countryside, which has all the comforts any 22–year-old would love, including a private driving range, putting greens, and a soccer pitch.

“What can you say about Rory McIlroy? I went to Ireland looking for a character flaw and all I found out was that his father beat me in an inter-club match when we were 16 years old,” said Feherty.

Also during Tuesday’s episode, Feherty invites viewers to meet his own parents. This poignant trip home will be the most personal look fans will have had of Feherty to date.

Feherty, starring golf commentator and funnyman David Feherty, debuted in June as Golf Channel’s most-watched original series premiere in its history. The show has been called “a cross between Oprah Winfrey and Johnny Carson” by The New York Times, “must-see TV” by the Orange County Register, and “a show that has all the ingredients to be a breakout hit” by The Augusta Chronicle.

The Feherty series features what the Northern Irishman-turned-American citizen calls “unfiltered” interviews with well-known and outspoken people from the world of sports, entertainment and golf, along with unique stories and anecdotes from his brilliant, yet zany, mind. Shot in settings both intimate and personal to the guests, Feherty displays an uncanny interview style that engages his subjects and brings out answers both honest and revealing. The 12-episode series airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.

That’s it.
