Tensions Boil Over on Big Break Dominican Republic
12 Nights at the Academy (Preview Show)
Airtime: Monday, 7-7:30 p.m. ET
Host: Michael Breed
The Golf Fix host Michael Breed will give viewers a sneak peek into some of the best moments and tips that will be coming up on the network’s series of instructional specials – titled 12 Nights at the Academy – in a half-hour preview show airing Monday (tonight) at 7 p.m. ET.
For 12 consecutive nights, beginning Nov. 29, golf legends, including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman and Gary Player will each host their own instructional show, sharing stories and experiences from their legendary careers and providing viewers with everything they need to know in order to improve their golf game.  Several of the game’s top instructors, including Hank Haney, Sean Foley and Michael Breed also will take part, as will one of the all-time greats in LPGA Tour history, Annika Sorenstam.  12 Nights at the Academy premieres on Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. ET, with a new episode airing each night through Dec. 10.
Big Break Dominican Republic (New)
Airtime: Tuesday, 9-10 p.m.
Hosts: Stephanie Sparks, Tom Abbott
In the series’ ninth episode, the tension between the two teams will boil over when a potential rules violation occurs during the episode’s first Strike Challenge. Later, one golf shot will change the face of the competition and also will create inner turmoil within one team heading into the series finale next Tuesday, Nov. 30.
Two competitors will receive strikes on Tuesday’s episode (via finishing last in a challenge). If a competitor receives two strikes during the course of the series, he or she will be permanently benched for the remainder of the series.
Big Break Dominican Republic features an all-star cast of 12 of the most captivating and polarizing personalities in series history competing as teams (men vs. women). The teams are competing against one another in a variety of golf challenges per episode, with the ultimate goal of knocking the other out of contention. The winning team at the conclusion of the 10-episode series will share the $100,000 cash prize, with $50,000 going to the most valuable player (MVP). The MVP also will earn a sponsor exemption to either the 2011 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open on the PGA TOUR or the 2011 Kia Classic on the LPGA Tour.
