After a light schedule last week, Golf Channel is back with the PGA Tour and the FedEx Cup-ending Tour Championship. It’ll have four round coverage. And there will be coverage of the Champions and PGA European Tour as well. Here’s what’s on tap.

·         Aimpoint Featured – Aimpoint, Golf Channel’s Emmy-award winning graphics technology that predicts the line of the putt and where players must aim to hole out, will be featured during on holes 9 and 18 during live tournament coverage at East Lake.
·         Pro Tracer Featured – Pro Tracer, a system that traces the flight and trajectory of a golf ball over the course of the actual shot, will be featured during live tournament coverage.
·         Extended Early Round and Weekend Coverage:  Golf Channel will air 10 hours of live tournament coverage Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday mornings, Golf Channel will air live, lead-in coverage prior to NBC Sports’ afternoon coverage.

  • STEM Included During Friday’s Telecast – On Thursday, Golf Channel and Time Warner Cable will host a group of area middle-school students for an interactive tour and program at the Champions Tour event, titled On the Greens and Behind the Scenes. Nearly 25 students from three, local after-school programs will leverage both the game of golf and TV production to demonstrate practical applications of STEM learning principles through the unique lens of golf. The program will be featured during the network’s Friday tournament coverage.
·         Highlighting the Field: Fred Couples, Bernhard Langer, Nick Price, Fred Funk, Mark Calcavecchia, Loren Roberts and Tom Kite.
