Fox Sports Ohio To Honor Legendary Cavs Voice Joe Tait

Next month, Fox Sports Ohio will air a one hour tribute honoring radio voice Joe Tait, a man who has been the Voice of the Cleveland Cavaliers since the team’s inception in 1970. On April 13, Joe will call his last game and retire as he has been experiencing health problems. There will be many Cavs, past and present talking about Joe, plus the show will have an interview with the man himself. Joe has been there for the great times and the lean times. Through it all, Tait was the one constant always at courtside whether it was at the old Richfield Coliseum or the current Quicken Loans Arena. I know Cavs fans will miss him.

Here are the details of the special.

FOX Sports Ohio Honors Joe Tait WithHave a Good Night Everybody

This one-hour special relives many memories and stories surrounding the long time Hall of Fame radio voice of the Cavaliers.

Premieres Wednesday, April 13th following the Cavs vs. Wizards game

CLEVELAND, OHIO – FOX Sports Ohio is excited to announce Have a Good Night Everybody, a one-hour special celebrating Joe Tait, long time Hall of Fame radio voice of the Cavaliers. The show, presented by KeyBank and Northeast Ohio Lincoln Dealers, will premiere in HD following the Cavaliers-Wizards game on Wednesday, April 13th, Tait’s final game as radio announcer before he retires from broadcasting.

Over Joe’s 39-year career with the Cavs, he has touched the lives of many individuals, from owners to head coaches, broadcasters to producers, players to fans. Everyone who crossed paths with Joe ultimately walked away with a fun Joe Tait story or memory. Much like Joe’s descriptive “tell it like it is” style of broadcasting that won the hearts of Cavs fans for nearly 40 years, this show tells many of these stories in an entertaining and informative way.

The 60-minute program features approximately 25-30 story tellers, including former Cavs coaches Bill Fitch and Mike Fratello, as well as former Cavaliers Mark Price, Jim Chones and Wayne Embry. Fans will also hear from former Cavs forward and current FOX Sports Ohio broadcaster Campy Russell and former Cavs General Manager and forward Danny Ferry, just to name a few. And of course the show would not be complete without hearing from Mr. Joe Tait himself.

Look for a trailer and clips of the show coming soon on www.foxsportsohio.com.

In addition to the premiere on April 13th, the show will also replay throughout April.
