World Series Finishes With A 10.6 Rating

Got the overnight ratings for the World Series from MLB. Fox garnered at 10.6 rating with a 16 share, but it was not enough to beat ABC’s ratings juggernaut Dancing With the Stars with a 10.8/17. Baseball did beat Monday Night Football on ESPN which received an 8.6.

The entire five game series will finish just above the lowest rated World Series in 2008.

GENERATES 10.6 OVERNIGHT RATING
The San Francisco Giants World Series victory in a dramatic Game 5 registered a 10.6/16 metered market rating. The five-game 2010 World Series averaged a metered market rating of 9.9 marking a 3% increase over the 2008 World Series, which had teams of similar combined market size. 
San Francisco registered a 37.9 rating for Game 5 which witnessed the Giants winning their first World Series in San Francisco and first title since 1954. The five games of the 2010 World Series averaged a 35.3, which topped the market’s average of 35.0 for the full seven games of the 2002 World Series.
