REPORT: Joe Buck and Greg Norman Are Your New US Open Broadcast Team

Reported by John Ourand at Sports Business Daily reports that Fox will name Joe Buck and Greg Norman as the lead broadcast team for the U.S. Open when the network takes over broadcasting golf’s second major of the season in 2015.

Fox signed a 12-year contract, over $1 billion contract with the United States Golf Association last year taking over from NBC/ESPN.

Shortly after Fox signed the contract with the USGA, Norman confirmed that he been in talks to become the lead analyst for the U.S. Open, but nothing had been finalized.

Now Ourand reports that Norman will sit in the same 18th tower that has been occupied by Johnny Miller since 1995.

Buck has not called a golf tournament, but is the lead announcer for Fox Sports on both MLB and NFL. Now he can add the U.S. Open golf tournament to his resumé.

Fox not only will air the men’s U.S. Open, but also the Women’s U.S. Open, the U.S. Senior Open and several USGA  amateur events.

No official word from Fox on Ourand’s report. We await the official press release on this new U.S. Open broadcast pairing plus the rest of the Fox golf announcing team.
