Preliminary Numbers Show World Series Beat Sunday Night Football

We’re hearing that Game 4 of the World Series on Fox outrated the Sunday Night Football blowout on NBC last night.

The World Series which ended at a 4-0 win for the Texas Rangers over the St. Louis Cardinals stayed close for most of the night while Sunday Night Football resulted in a lopsided 62-7 victory for the New Orleans Saints over the Indianapolis Colts.

According to preliminary numbers reported by John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, Fox outrated NBC by almost two rating points.

It’s a big win for MLB as last year, Sunday Night Football beat the World Series. However, the ratings for Game 4 last night were down from last year as Sports Business Journal’s Austin Karp tells us.
