Let’s do the NFL on Fox Announcing Assignments Fantasy Game for Week 6. My apologies for not posting for Week 5. I totally forgot last week. We’ll resume this week.
For Week 6, Fox has the doubleheader and the network loses just the Atlanta Falcons for the bye thus a full schedule of seven games for Sunday, October 13. The network has five games early and two games in the 4:25 p.m. ET window.
With New Orleans at New England being the main game in the late window, it’s rather obvious that the “A” team of at least Troy Aikman with Pam Oliver would be in Foxboro. With Fox covering the American League Championship Series in primetime, expect Joe Buck to be calling baseball. If the Red Sox advance, Fox might try to pull another NFL/MLB double for Buck although the logistics between Foxboro and Boston would be more difficult than last year when Buck did it in San Francisco for the NLCS.
If Fox decides not to have Buck call both games expect Thom Brennaman to be in place of Buck. In the past, Sam Rosen has moved into Brennaman’s slot to work with Brian Billick and Laura Okmin. Last year, Fox had only five games in both Weeks 6 and 7 so Fox did not have to worry about Sam’s team. This year, it does. We’ll see what happens later this week when the official press release comes out.
So here are the teams with the adjustments if Joe doesn’t work the Saints-Patriots game with the point totals for each tandem.
Thom Brennaman/Troy Aikman//Pam Oliver — 1 point
Kenny Albert/Daryl Johnston/Tony Siragusa — 2 points
Sam Rosen/Brian Billick//Laura Okmin — 3 points
Kevin Burkhardt/John Lynch//Erin Andrews — 4 points
Chris Myers/Tim Ryan//Jennifer Hale — 3 points
Dick Stockton/Ronde Barber//Kris Budden — 2 points
???/Heath Evans//Molly McGrath — 1 point
