LYNCH: DECOUD AND MOORE SPEARHEAD POTENT FALCONS DEFENSE – In preparation of calling this weekend’s Panthers vs. Falcons game, NFL on FOX analyst John Lynch credited the resurgence of Atlanta’s defense to safety combo Thomas DeCoud and William Moore, leading them to a 3-0 record. “I’m seeing a player in DeCoud who looks to have taken the next step,” said Lynch. “He seems incredibly comfortable is this system that Mike Nolan is teaching. Mike’s given this defense a little more latitude to disguise and muddy things up for opposing quarterbacks. It’s a great testament to those safeties. Safeties are always at the heart of the disguise as quarterbacks are looking at them to get them to tell the picture.” Lynch noted strong defensive performances the last two weeks against the Broncos and Chargers. “In playing Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers, two guys who don’t get confused easily, I saw confusion with both of them. Confusion is one thing, but this league is about making plays and both William and Thomas have been making a ton of plays and being very instrumental in the way this defense has been playing.”

Enjoy your football Sunday.
