Billick: Reid’s Decision to Go with Vick Surprised Me
2-0 TEXANS FACEOFF WITH 0-2 COWBOYS – Week 3 of the NFL on FOX schedule kicks off on Sunday, Sept. 27 with singleheader coverage of six games— each presented in true HD. At 1:00 PM ET, most eyes will be on Houston as Matt Schaub and the 2-0 Texans host Tony Romo and the 0-2 Cowboys. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Pam Oliver call all the action of this Lone Star State battle live from Reliant Stadium. In New Orleans, Drew Brees and the defending champs return home to take on Matt Ryan and the Falcons in a matchup of NFC South rivals. Both the Vikings and Lions are 0-2 but the mood around them couldn’t be any more different. The Vikings host the Lions with their season on the brink, while Detroit brings electrifying rookie Jahvid Best to the Metrodome. Also, the surprising 2-0 Chiefs host the Niners. At 4:00 PM ET, newly named starting QB Michael Vick and the Eagles travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. Philly coach Andy Reid surprised many by choosing to go with Vick after initially claiming that Kevin Kolb would return from injury to make the start. In St. Louis, the Rams welcome Mike Shanahan’s Redskins to the Edwards Jones Dome.
Coverage begins at 12:00 PM ET with America’s most-watched pregame show, FOX NFL SUNDAY. Terry Bradshaw and Curt Menefee co-host the Emmy Award-winning program and are joined by analysts Howie Long, Michael Strahan and Jimmy Johnson. NFL Insider Jay Glazer presents the latest league news and scoops and comedic prognosticator Frank Caliendo contributes his weekly “Frank’s Picks” segment. NFL rules analyst Mike Pereira is also on hand to go over any impactful officiating issues from the last week. In this week’s show, Oliver sits down with Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez for a feature on his Hall of Fame-bound career and his quest to reach his first Super Bowl.

BRIAN BILLICK ON ANDY REID’S DECISION TO START MICHAEL VICK SUNDAY IN JACKSONVILLE:  “I’m surprised Andy Reid declared Michael Vick the starter. He seemed very resolved about starting Kevin Kolb against Jacksonville,” said NFL on FOX analyst Brian Billick. “It seems like these conversations should have gone on within the Eagles organization before Reid said anything publicly about starting Kolb and Vick. Vick’s a dynamic player and it looks like he’s able to operate within the pocket now, but I’m a little surprised Andy Reid made the choice to go with him this week.”

BILLICK: FALCONS HAVE LEGIT SHOT TO UPSET SUPER BOWL CHAMP THIS WEEKEND — “Atlanta is coming off a really solid performance against Arizona where they found that they have a great one-two punch with Michael Turner and Jason Snelling,” said NFL on FOX analyst Brian Billick. “Drew Brees continues to play at a high level each and every week so it’s important that Atlanta protect the ball and avoid turnovers. If they can do that, we’re going to have an exciting game in New Orleans and the Falcons will have a shot to pull off the upset over the Saints.”

And we are finished.
