We have the overnight ratings for Game 2 of the 2013 World Series. With the St. Louis Cardinals winning 4-2, we’re assured of at least 5 games. Fox has to be happy knowing there won’t be a sweep. There are some interesting numbers from last night. First, the game garnered a 9.5 rating with a 16 share. That’s up 8% from last year’s World Series Game 2 numbers of 8.8/14 for the San Francisco Giants-Detroit Tigers series.
It gave Fox its second consecutive primetime broadcast win. Against cable, the World Series tripled the numbers for Thursday Night Football on NFL Network which garnered a 3.3/6 for the Carolina Panthers-Tampa Bay Buccaneers game.
The game’s peak rating was a 10.8/16 in the 10 p.m. ET hour.
For the home markets, St. Louis led all local metered ratings with a 42.0/61. Boston saw a 37.3/57.
We’ll get the final numbers later this afternoon.
Thanks to Fox for providing the numbers from Thursday night.
