In its second year of existence, Fox Sports 1 will air all but two games of the National League Division Series. Fox will air the San Francisco-Washington Nationals series and St. Louis Cardinals-Los Angeles Dodgers series. One game in each series will be given to MLB Network and in each case, the most of the Fox crew calling the series will move over to MLB Network, but we’ll worry about that when we write the MLB Network post.
Calling Buccos-Nats will be Matt Vasgersian, John Smoltz and Jon Paul Morosi. Assigned to the Cards-Dodgers series will be Joe Buck, Harold Reynolds, Tom Verducci and Ken Rosenthal.
Fox Sports 1 begins covering the NLDS on Friday.
Here’s its press release.
NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION SERIES COVERAGE BEGINS FRIDAY, OCT. 3 ON FOX SPORTS 1 & FOX DEPORTES
Pregame, Between Game and Postgame Coverage Schedule Announced
New York – This week, MLB postseason coverage comes to FOX Sports 1 for the first time as America’s new sports network is scheduled to televise up to eight games of the National League Division Series opening with a Game 1 doubleheader on Friday, Oct. 3. That day, the San Francisco Giants take on the National League East Division Champion Washington Nationals in a National League Division Series Game 1, live from Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Later, the National League West Division Champion Los Angeles Dodgers host the Central Division Champion St. Louis Cardinals in the other NLDS Game 1, live from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Joe Buck, Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci call the action for the Cardinals/Dodgers series, with reports from Ken Rosenthal. Matt Vasgersian, John Smoltz and Jon Paul Morosi cover the series beginning in Washington.
FOX Sports is providing more hours of pre and postgame coverage devoted to MLB’s postseason than in any year prior. FOX, FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes have over 60 hours of pre, between-game and postgame coverage planned, including expanded 90-minute editions of AMERICA’S PREGAME, hosted by Mike Hill and news anchor Molly McGrath, and special editions of FOX SPORTS LIVE, FOX Sports 1’s signature news, highlights and analysis program between games and following most games.
All NLDS games televised by FOX Sports 1 are also televised in Spanish exclusively on FOX Deportes, the leader in Spanish-language sports media, and for the first time via FOX Sports GO, the app that provides live streaming video of FOX Sports content at home or on-the-go. FOX Deportes is poised to deliver its most comprehensive MLB postseason coverage ever, with pregame shows, plus special reports, interviews and postgame analysis on its signature studio show CENTRAL FOX. Former Houston Astros first baseman, Jose Tolentino and seasoned commentator Pablo Alsina are joined by retired Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Duaner Sanchez to call the action. FOX Deportes’ Digital platforms supplement efforts through social media channels and provide behind the scenes coverage on FOXDeportes.com.
