Bradshaw on the Raiders: They Have to Move that Franchise Back to LA
Moss: It’s Disrespectful to Give My Number to a Rookie
Strahan on Jets: Football is a Game of Structure and They Have Had Problems with That
Glazer Reports Mark Sanchez Suffered a Dislocated Shoulder in Preseason

————————————————————————————————–

Co-host Terry Bradshaw on Darrelle Revis making his NFL return following ACL surgery against his former team, the Jets: “He’s a guy who wanted his money and wanted all of it. He has a chance now in Tampa. He’s going back today against a team that’s not any good and receivers that aren’t any good. This is the perfect situation but don’t expect him to be 100%. It’s just going to take some time.”

—————————————————————————————————

FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer revealed for the first time, exactly what happened with Mark Sanchez’s injury this preseason:  “I’ve actually learned that when Mark Sanchez took that original hit he dislocated his shoulder.  Now you see him rolling around on the ground there (video). He’s in an awful lot of pain and the reason why he’s in so much pain is because right there, the doctor actually pops the shoulder back in the socket. It’s called a shoulder subluxation, which means that shoulder continues to dislocate; coming and out. He already had a previously partially torn labrum so Mark Sanchez is going to get a second opinion this week, but don’t look for him to come back anytime here in the next couple of weeks. There are two injuries in there but that dislocation is what nobody knew about.”

—————————————————————————————————

Analyst Michael Strahan on the Jets struggles and Geno Smith getting the start today: “Football is a game of discipline and structure, and that’s something the Jets had had problems with. Once there are too many opinions, the opinion of your coach gets lost. Geno Smith is living a fairy tale being a quarterback in New York City. This is the city that loves you and can turn on you very quickly, and he has a great example of that sitting next to him on the sidelines in Mark Sanchez. Geno, if you win, don’t get too happy, and if you lose, don’t get too down. It’s New York; they will love you as quick as they’ll hate you.”

—————————————————————————————————

FOX NFL Kickoff analyst Randy Moss feels disrespected by the Vikings giving his number 84 to rookie Cordarrelle Patterson: “First of all, that’s disrespectful to give a rookie my number. I don’t really believe in numbers but from a professional standpoint, I did make that number. He hasn’t proven anything yet but hey what can I say? I’m just Randy Moss sitting here in the studio.”

—————————————————————————————————

Analyst Michael Strahan on the key to Green Bay’s rematch against San Francisco: “The Smiths are the key to protecting Aaron Rodgers – Justin and Aldon. Justin Smith is the catalyst for everything. Another weapon in protecting Aaron Rodgers is Eddie Lacy and his running game which hasn’t been consistent.”

—————————————————————————————————

Analyst Jimmy Johnson on the preseason distractions in New England and how they will impact the Patriots: “During the Hernandez situation, Bill Belichick was very professional, he was very thorough and then they put it behind them. The team follows Bill Belichick’s lead so the distractions will not be a problem. What might be a problem is they lost some outstanding receivers and tight ends.”
Analyst Howie Long added
: “Nobody adjusts better than the New England Patriots, both from a personnel and schematic standpoint.”

—————————————————————————————————

Analyst Howie Long on an often forgotten team in the NFC: “Atlanta was within 10 yards of advancing to the Super Bowl. In comes Osi Umenyiora and Steven Jackson. In my mind, if they had Steven Jackson in the playoffs last year, they would have gone to the Super Bowl. The irony is they had an opportunity to make that deal prior to the trade deadline, and passed on it.”

—————————————————————————————————

Analyst Jimmy Johnson says the Dallas Cowboys have as much starting talent as anyone in the league, but lack depth:  “Dallas should win this game tonight if they can protect Tony Romo. Dallas has as good talent as anywhere in the league but the problem they have is depth. If they get injures throughout the year, that’s going to be a problem. They’ve got one big star and that’s Dez Bryant. He finished the season strong last year and he’s a physical mismatch for anyone trying to cover him. Look for him to catch some footballs, break some tackles and get some big scores.”

—————————————————————————————————

Analyst Jimmy Johnson predicts Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman will be the best “rookie” head coach in the NFL this season:  “Trestman because he went to the best team.  He’ll do a great job with Cutler. Whether or not it’s enough, I don’t know. Chicago had 10 wins last season.”

Howie Long, Michael Strahan & Terry Bradshaw discuss the state of the Oakland Raiders:

Long: “I hope we’re focusing on the Raiders as much as we are now next year when they have $60 million dollars in cap space and they can finally start to unfold the plan.”
Strahan:
“As we’ve learned with the Raiders, it’s not so much about having the cap space, its spending it wisely on the right players.”
Bradshaw:
“I don’t think they will stay in Oakland.  They have to move that franchise and have got to go back to Los Angeles.”

And we’re done here.
