Brett Favre has 10 turnovers this season and I don’t know who regret’s that plane trip to Mississippi more – Brad Childress or Brett Favre. If the Vikings lose to Dallas today I would sit Favre’s rear-end on the bench and put Tavaris Jackson in.”Host Curt Menefee then asked Johnson if Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones should fire head coach Wade Phillips if Dallas loses to Minnesota today.Johnson: “Not with the lockout as a possibility. You don’t bring in a new coach with the lockout a possibility, you keep things status quo.”Analysts Howie Long and Michael Strahan previewed today’s Cowboys vs. Vikings game.Long: “This is ‘The Green Mile’ game; Tom Hanks is in the end zone in full uniform waiting for the loser of this football game. The shame of it is this 1-3 versus 1-3 is the marquee game of the week. They are two of the most talented teams in football. Dallas feels like the only team more talented than them is Minnesota. The winner of this game can still be a factor at the end of the year and maybe win the Super Bowl.”Strahan: “The Vikings feel just like Dallas does, every little mistake is what’s keeping them from winning the game. All the games are close; it’s just been little things that cost them. The one thing I was surprised to learn from talking to the players in Minnesota this week is that Randy Moss has been a light of positivity with such an aura. He’s pulled the offensive guys together before practice and he gives them encouraging words and tells them to focus and have a great practice. It’s something that most people wouldn’t think of Randy Moss doing.”————————————————————————————–Analysts Strahan and Terry Bradshaw weighed in on whether 49ers head coach Mike Singletary will be back after this season. Will he?Strahan: “No. Whenever you see a coach just get on players on the sideline on national TV, you get tired of it. I’m tired of watching that and I’m sure the players are tired of experiencing it.”Bradshaw: “Unless they have a dramatic turnaround I don’t think Singletary will be back.”————————————————————————————–Host Menefee asked who the team to beat in the NFC South is right now: Falcons or Saints?Strahan: “The Saints are still the team to beat in the NFC South. Obviously some injuries have set them back but they’re going to get some of those guys back healthy.”————————————————————————————–Analyst Long tips his cap to the Atlanta Falcons organization.Long: “Think about where the Falcons were four years ago. Michael Vick, the face of the franchise goes to prison. They hired a new head coach who quit on them mid-season. They then bring in Thomas Dimitroff from New England as GM who thinks he has a deal with Bill Parcells, no. Dimitroff thinks he has a deal with Pete Carroll, no. The Falcons go with their third head coaching choice, a guy by the name of Mike Smith. People said ‘Mike who?’ Well it turned out Smith was the right choice. Rookies Tony Moeaki and Eric Berry in Kansas City along with Maurkice Pouncey in Pittsburgh are also playing well but I’m going to go with Sam Bradford in St. Louis.”————————————————————————————–In this week’s ‘Fired Up’ segment, analyst Bradshaw gave Sean Payton, Gregg Williams, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints some advice.Bradshaw: “You know I’m from Louisiana so you know I love the Saints but I need to give the Saints some fatherly advice. I also understand the hangovers are just common in New Orleans; they don’t call it Bourbon Street for nothing. Beating Peyton Manning for the ring was a huge deal. Your Super Bowl party was bigger than Mardi Gras but the celebration has to end starting now. I know Sean Payton likes a good party and hanging with celebrity buddies like Kenny Chesney and Jimmy Buffett but tell Buffett to take his party to Margaritaville so you don’t waste away a shot at another Super Bowl. Hey Sean (Payton), after 72 big plays last season you’re on pace for only 41 this year. How about throwing it deep? I know you have injuries but Gregg Williams, you’re supposed to be a mad scientist as the defensive coordinator, start blitzing more and treat the Max Hall’s of the world like you did Brett Favre in the NFC Championship game. You need more turnovers! I know Payton brought in 5-time NBA Champion head coach Pat Riley who told you not to fall into the “disease of me.” Riley’s right, quit patting yourselves on the back. You have 11 games to jack yourselves back up. I’ve looked around the NFC and quite frankly you’re still the best team out there. Finally, Drew Brees is worrying about missing Reggie Bush but you still have plenty of good receivers. And what’s this Twitter nonsense asking fans for baby names suggestions? I got a name for you, ‘Cool Brees,’ that works for me and that’s exactly what the Saints need; a cooler, better Brees.”
