FOX NFL Insider Jay Glazer on the NFL informing employees of labor plans:This week, for the first time, the NFL league office laid out a plan to their employees in the event of a lockout or work stoppage. It was the first time they addressed their troops in preparation for the worst-case scenario. Department heads were gathered and informed of what has been described as a three-phase plan to handle a lockout or work stoppage. They were then instructed to relay the plan to employees in each department.”
Glazer on the three-phase plan:
“Phase one, which would begin if a new CBA is not reached by April, entails pay cuts for Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL Senior Vice Presidents.”
“In the event a new deal is still not reached a few months after April, phase two would entail the majority of league employees taking two-week UNPAID leaves of absence.”
“Phase three would result in larger scale pay cuts and salary freezes.”
“NFL PR head Greg Aiello confirmed that such a move was made this week as league employees have been curious as of late as to what will happen in this worst-case scenario.”

FOX NFL SUNDAY analyst Michael Strahan on the woes of his former team the New York Giants:  “At some point they’re panicking a little too early.  Coaches can only do so much.  As players, they need to man up!  Somebody needs to step up and stop making excuses.”
Co-host Terry Bradshaw wants to see the Cowboys play with the emotion and passion he felt when he proposed to his ex-wife:  “When I went down on one knee to ask my ex-wife for her hand in marriage, you know what I showed?  I showed emotion.  I showed passion.  To me, it’s that simple little thing that makes a difference.  I want to see the Cowboys excited to play.  They’re too talented to be 0-2.”

Analyst Johnson on whether or not Wade Phillps should be fired if the Cowboys go 0-3 today: “Absolutely not.  Number one, he’s the defensive coordinator and number two he’s the head coach.  Plus, he’s Jerry’s [Jones] guy.  Jerry’s happy with Wade so Jerry’s not going to make a change.”
————————————————————————————–
Analyst Johnson broke down the key issues with two 0-2 teams; the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings:
Dallas: “Stop acting like you’ve already won.  From the owner down, the team as been infected with Super Bowl talk.  In case you haven’t noticed, you haven’t earned anything yet.  You have too many plays designed to put your mini superstars in the spotlight.  Simplify the play book and get back to your running game to keep the defense rested.  Fundamentals will cut down on turnovers and penalties.”
Minnesota: “It’s always been my belief that old veterans need to work more, not less.  By not showing up to training camp, Brett Favre hasn’t developed chemistry with anyone.  Don’t be afraid to use running back Adrian Peterson as much as you can and lean on that defense.”
————————————————————————————–
Analyst Long on the problems defensive players and coaches face against Michael Vick:
“Michael Vick forces you to extend your coverage; it’s a defensive backs nightmare.  He changes the way you rush the quarterback.  He forces you to take someone off coverage or off of your pass rush to spy.  The question on Michael Vick is, has his decision making improved?”

Host Curt Menefee asked former head coach Johnson if he would bench Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards following his arrest:  “I’m a coach. I want to win games.  Let the legal process and the league take care of it.  As a coach, I will put my best players on the field.”
————————————————————————————–
Bradshaw on the difference Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz has made in quarterback Jay Cutler:
“Martz has made a huge difference in quarterback Jay Cutler.  I love the way they’re playing.  I believe in them.”
Host Menefee followed up by asking Bradshaw if Mike Martz’ play calling has saved head coach Lovie Smith’s job.  Has it?
Bradshaw: “If his job is in jeopardy, yeah.”

That’s it.
