NFL Crossflexes Again in Week 8; Seattle-Carolina to CBS, Houston-Tenn. to Fox

This hasn’t been given the official NFL press release treatment as of yet, but it has been announced by the Tennessee Titans so we can consider this as solid.

First, Week 8 on October 26 will be quite unique as we have an early, early game that day. Detroit and Atlanta will be playing in London and they’ll be kicking off at 2:30 p.m. in the UK or 9:30 a.m. ET. So this means a quadrupleheader of games at 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 4:25 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The other unique quality is a trade of 1 p.m. games between CBS and Fox. The NFL has moved Seattle at Carolina from Fox to CBS. And Houston at Tennessee moves to Fox. It marks the first all-NFC matchup on CBS dating back to 1994. The Texans-Titans game will be the second all-AFC game on Fox after the network aired New England at Buffalo yesterday.

Both networks will still have four games each at 1 p.m., but had the schedules remained the same, Seattle-Carolina would have been buried in Fox’s slate which includes Bears-Pats, Vikings-Bucs and Rams-Chiefs. CBS has Bills-Jets, Miami-Jacksonville and Baltimore-Cincinnati. Getting Seahawks-Panthers strengthens CBS’ schedule and also gives the local CBS stations in those markets a rare opportunity to air the home team.

Here’s how the schedule looks in Week 8:
