Tipping off today, ESPN3.com will have exclusive live coverage – 130 games in all – of the FIBA Americas Championship from Aug. 30-Sept. 11 in Argentina and the FIBA European Basketball (EuroBasket) Championship from Aug. 31-Sept. 19 in Lithuania.  Additionally, ESPN2 will air the semifinals (Sunday, Sept. 11, at 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. ET) and third place game (Sept. 11 at midnight; 9 p.m. PT) of the FIBA Americas and both gold medal games from the EuroBasket (Sunday, Sept. 19, at 12:30 a.m. ET) and Americas (Sept. 11, live at 8 p.m. ET).

ESPN.com will have full coverage on the NBA index page complete with tournament previews, team capsules, scoreboard and box scores, post-game coverage and daily live chats.  Bloggers from the TrueHoop Network will also contribute to coverage throughout the championships.

The biennial tournaments match up the men’s national teams from Europe and the Americas, respectively, against each other.  The championships also serve as the qualifying tournaments for the FIBA World Championship and the Olympic Games.  Notable NBA players featured in the FIBA EuroBasket Championship include Dirk Nowitzki and Chris Kaman (Germany); Pau and Marc Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Rudy Fernandez and Serge Ibaka (Spain); Tony Parker and Joakim Noah (France); Luol Deng (Great Britain); and Andrea Bargnani (Italy).  In the FIBA Americas Championship, Manu Ginobili and Luis Scola will represent the host country in their native Argentina, with JJ Barea playing for Puerto Rico and 2011 NBA lottery pick Tristan Thompson for Canada.
