World Cup Announcing Assignments for June 22, 2014

The second round of Group Play ends on Sunday with a tripleheader on ABC/ESPN and Univision/Univision Deportes.

On Monday, the third round begins with simultaneous games in one window. And it can lead to a lot of exciting play especially if you remember four years ago when the US beat Algeria 1-0 just after England beat Slovenia 1-0 and it gave Team USA the win in the Group.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, we have the all-important US-Portugal game in Manaus that with a USMNT win or draw will allow the Americans to advance the Round of 16.

The US-Portugal game will end a day of three games that will be played in Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Manaus.

As mentioned, ABC will be part of the day’s broadcast window with two games. ESPN will air the US-Portugal game.-

And with all games on Univision, they’re all “ENNNNNNNNNNNN VEEEEEEEEEE-VOOOOOOOOHHHH!” I love when I hear that.

Here’s the schedule and of course, all times are Eastern.
