Pats-Saints on Monday is ESPN's Best Overnight MNF Rating

As I wait for ESPN’s press release on the matter, we have the Sports Business Daily coming through with a story on the overnight ratings for Monday Night Football. The anticipation for the New England Patriots-New Orleans Saints on Monday resulted in the highest overnight ratings for the series since it moved to cable in 2006.

Nationally, the game garnered a 14.4 rating, topping the previous record, a 14.2 from October 5 which had the Green Bay Packers facing old friend, Brett Favre, and the Minnesota Vikings.

In the home markets, New Orleans had the highest ratings, a combined 66.7 rating adding ESPN and the local over-the-air carrier. Boston had a 35.0.

When the ESPN press release becomes available, I’ll post it here.
