For the last night of the MLB regular season, ESPN could not have asked for anything better by having both the American and National League Wild Card races tied. So ESPN will use both itself and ESPN2. And all four games with Wild Card implications will be aired. ESPN will focus on the American League while ESPN2 will have the National League games. This is how the schedule will shape up:
American League
Boston at Baltimore — ESPN, 7 p.m. (Sean McDonough/Aaron Boone/Rick Sutcliffe) — seen in most of the country
New York Yankees at Tampa Bay — ESPN, 7 p.m. (Steve Berthiaume/John Kruk)/ESPN Radio (Mark Kestecher/Peter Pasciarelli) — Seen in Baltimore and Boston and in Memphis on ESPN2.
National League
Philadelphia at Atlanta — ESPN2, 7 p.m. (Dave O’Brien/Nomar Garciaparra/Orel Hershiser) — seen in most of the country.
St. Louis at Houston — ESPN2, 8 p.m. (Mark Neely/Doug Glanville) — Seen in Atlanta and Philadelphia and in Hartford on ESPN.
