BREAKING NEWS: ESPN Gets the Masters

BREAKING NEWS – ESPN takes over the first two rounds the Masters from USA Network next year. Ben Grossman of Broadcasting & Cable also has the story. And you have the official press release from Billy Payne, Chairman of the Augusta National Golf Club.

USA Network had aired the first two rounds of the Masters since the early 1980’s, but with the channel no longer carrying golf, Augusta National decided to go with ESPN which also carries the US Open. This is a big win for ESPN which has been trying to get this tournament for quite some time.

CBS remains the over the air broadcaster for the 3rd and 4th Rounds.
