Baseball This Weekend and Beyond

I have some baseball-centric releases for you and throughout the baseball season, I’ll try to group the network TV announcements together so they’re not all over the place. Fox’s baseball schedule for this Saturday is here. Next week, I’ll group it here so you won’t have to dig around, it’ll all be in one place.

Ok, here’s a release from MLB Network announcing that every Friday night, MLB Tonight will be commercial-free for one hour to provide continuous highlights, updates and live cut-ins. Perhaps this is something that can be expanded for the entire season. I like this.

MLB NETWORK TO AIR 60 MINUTES OF HIGHLIGHTS, UPDATES & LIVE LOOK-INS COMMERCIAL-FREE
Solid 60 to Debut Within MLB Tonight on Friday, April 9

Secaucus, N.J., April 8, 2010 – MLB Network will debut Solid 60, a 60-minute block of highlights, updates and live look-ins telecast commercial-free, on Friday, April 9 at 9:30 p.m. ET. MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger and Harold Reynolds will host the debut segment, taking viewers around the league at the time of day with the most games in progress. Solid 60 will air within MLB Tonight, MLB Network’s live nightly studio show, regularly on Friday nights throughout the 2010 Championship Season.
Solid 60 showcases the essence of MLB Tonight in a one-hour format and demonstrates our commitment to providing comprehensive coverage of all 30 MLB Clubs,” said Tony Petitti, President and CEO of MLB Network.
MLB Tonight, the signature program of MLB Network during the regular season, airs live beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET until the final MLB game of the night ends each Monday through Friday, featuring live look-ins of games in progress, updates, highlights, reporting and analysis.

Next to TBS and its selection for this Sunday. It’s noted that Milwaukee Brewers TV voice Brian Anderson kicks off the season for TBS and will do the first three Sunday games for the network.
