Baseball on TV For Memorial Day Weekend

Let’s go over the baseball fare on TV this Memorial Day weekend. Plenty of games to see as well.

Starting with Fox and again, Joe Buck is back on the case as he’ll call the Cardinals-Cubs game from Wrigley Field. This makes six games out of possible eight that Buck will have worked. We’re keeping track this season. Here’s the Fox press release.

Cardinals/Cubs Renew Rivalry on FOX SATURDAY BASEBALL GAME OF THE WEEK
Rosenthal:  Questions Prevent Cardinals From Being Dominant Force In NL Central
MIDWEST BATTLE ROYALE IN CHICAGO – The FOX Saturday Baseball Game of the Week returns to afternoon coverage this Saturday, May 29 at 4:00 PM ET with three exciting matchups. One of baseball’s greatest rivalries is renewed when Derek Lee and the Cubs host Albert Pujols and the NL Central leading Cardinals at Wrigley. In Minneapolis, two division leaders face off when Vladimir Guerrero and the Rangers visit Joe Mauer and the Twins at new Target Field. Also, out west the Angels host the Mariners.  This week, the pregame show originates live from Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA with host Chris Rose.  Once game action begins, Rose joins the game crew including Kenny Albert and Eric Karros as a field reporter.

ROSENTHAL: QUESTIONS PREVENT CARDINALS FROM BEING DOMINANT FORCE IN NL CENTRAL — “What makes the NL Central so interesting is that the Cardinals were supposed to dominate the division, but to this point that hasn’t happened and I don’t see how they will,” MLB on FOX Insider Ken Rosenthal offered. “For starters, there are some real questions with their offense. Holliday and Pujols have yet to get hot at the same time. Pujols, in particular, has been un-Albert-like of late. Beyond all that, they now face the potential loss of Kyle Lohse. Brad Penny also is hurt, but it’s still not clear how much time he’ll miss. Regardless, there are some pitching issues surfacing that weren’t there before. Are the Cardinals still the best team in the division? Yes, but to this point Cincinnati has been a surprise and the Cubs finally are playing better. It looks like the NL Central will be a real race this season.”
