New Afternoon Drive Show at 890 ESPN Radio

David Scott of Boston Sports Media Watch is on top of the announcement of a new show at 890 ESPN Radio in Boston.

Instead of going for a heavy hitter, 890 ESPN is going for a more low-keyed approach in afternoon drive. But instead of going 3-7 p.m. or 2-6 p.m., the station will have its new show run from 4 – 6 p.m.

But 890 ESPN will also have a live midday show from noon – 2 p.m. David has all the details plus his analysis whether this will make a dent in WEEI’s ratings (most likely not).

It does give 890 some more local programming, but the station is still dependent on national ESPN Radio shows which in Boston, does not work very well. We’ll see by the end of the year if this is still going or if the final nail will be driven into the 890 coffin.
