BREAKING NEWS: Mike Tirico and Steven A. Smith to replace Dan Patrick

ESPN has just announced that starting Thursday, Mike Tirico and Steven A. Smith will host separate shows in the timeslot that used to be Dan Patrick’s.

From 1 – 3 p.m. ET, Tirico will do his show. It’s a return to ESPN Radio for Tirico as he was one of the original hosts when the network only broadcast on weekends. Do you remember the others? Answer below.

From 3 – 4 p.m. ET, ESPN Radio will have Steven A. Smith host a one hour show. He will do a show from 2 – 3 p.m. locally on ESPN Radio in New York, then go national for the 3 -4 p.m. hour.

The original hosts of ESPN Radio which would broadcast from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. ET Saturdays and Sundays were Chuck Wilson, Tony Bruno, Keith Olbermann and Mike Tirico. Olbermann would be with Chuck and Tony on Saturdays and Tirico would work Sundays with Chuck and Tony. And now you know.
