890 ESPN May Not Be Dead… Yet

As we continue to monitor the Michael Felger-to-WEEI.com situation, our topsy turvy Friday continues. We are hearing some interesting news regarding the afternoon host position at 890 ESPN in Boston. Sources tell Fang’s Bites that Andy Gresh who’s a candidate to fill the Mark Madden position at 1250 ESPN Radio in Pittsburgh, is also on 890 ESPN’s radar to replace Felger.

We have not heard anything about a co-host with Gresh, but as he has done shows for the mother ship, ESPN Radio on a national basis, I would guess that he would do the 890 ESPN show solo.

Since Gresh was canned in a clean sweep of the Score staff by Citadel Communications, he has done work for ESPN Radio on the weekends and as we mentioned last week, did a guest spot in Pittsburgh as part of a mass audition for Mark Madden’s chair.

As usual, stay tuned.
